This is a unique opportunity for students to combine creativity with aerospace science and environmental awareness.

HKUST's world-first High-precision Carbon Dioxide and Methane Point Source Co-detection Instrument Payload will be stationed aboard China's Tiangong Space Station, monitoring Earth's carbon emissions from space.

Work Requirements

Core Spirit

Teams should focus on telling compelling stories about aerospace and environmental protection. While scientific accuracy is encouraged, creativity and storytelling are equally important.

Format

Micro-movies should be 3-5 minutes long, in MP4 format, with resolution of at least 1080p. Both Chinese and English subtitles are recommended.

Originality & Creation Statement

All teams must declare the originality of their work and the use of any AI tools or auxiliary materials.

Do I need filmmaking experience?

Not at all! This competition is open to all secondary school students, regardless of experience. We'll provide workshops and resources to help you get started.

How big should my team be?

Teams should consist of 5-8 students from your school. This allows for diverse roles like director, camera operator, editor, and actors!

What equipment do I need?

A smartphone with a camera is enough to get started! Focus on storytelling and creativity—fancy equipment isn't required.

How long should the film be?

Your micro-movie should be between 3-5 minutes long. Short and impactful works best!

What should my film be about?

Your film should connect aerospace technology with environmental protection. Tell a story that shows how space science helps protect our planet!

Who can win the rocket launch trip?

All members of the champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up teams will get the fully-funded trip to witness a rocket launch!
